Star Country's 8th annual "Robynn Jaymes Pajama Jam" is in the books and it was a success!
Thanks to everyone who worked hours upon hours to organize the event, and to the 900 women who showed up ... early numbers show we raised $17,000 for the American Cancer Society. That's in addition to the $160,000 raised in the first 7 years.
The annual girls' night out raises money and awareness for breast cancer.
Every year, country artists hit the stage in front of the pajama-clad women who are ready for a good time and willing to open their wallets at the silent auction to help the fight.
This was only my second year to help out with the event and it never ceases to amaze what a great event it is!
This year, Robynn Jaymes who founded and has worked on this event every year since the beginning couldn't make it this time around, due to illness, and has been in the hospital. I did get the entire crowd to yell "GET WELL SOON ROBYNN!" and then "WE LOVE YOU ROBYNN!" while I "taped" with my cell phone. I can't wait to show her - how missed she was.
After years of trying to get into the event, Star Country's Brett Sharp finally got through security (who knows how!:) and helped host the event. He did great - but he better not get used to all those kisses :) - next year Robynn will be back!
Thanks to everyone for helping raise so much money for such an important fight.@
