Let the festivities begin!
Tomorrow morning at 11, Grandin Village will hold its holiday parade. The week after, we have a long Thanksgiving weekend. Then - bam - it's December already.
The first weekend in December is packed with events.
Roanoke's
Dickens of a Christmas kicks off with the city's tree lighting and the following 2 weekends it continues ... from 6-10p in downtown Roanoke.
There's the
Parlor Tour in Roanoke's Old Southwest neighborhood. That is scheduled for Saturday the 3rd.
Head out to Blacksburg Friday afternoon, December 2nd, and you'll find the
Winter Lights Festival. It kicks off with pictures with Santa at 4 p.m. There will be a tree lighting at 5:30.
The temperature drops and the parties begin ... and that's just the first weekend in December! And I have no doubt there are plenty more events scheduled across Southwest Virginia.
Happy start to the holidays!
