For the first time ever, my husband and I decided to check out the whole Black Friday dealio because we wanted a camera that was on sale.
We went by HH Gregg at 11:45p on Thanksgiving. The store was set to open at midnight. We drove by ... and we kept on driving. Holy mass of humanity! Dare I say, it was slightly frightening, to think what this mob might do, to get what they want. There is nothing I want that bad. Not now ... not ever.
We decided to head back the next morning, before the sale ended at 11 a.m. We pulled up around 9:30 a.m., found plenty of parking spaces in which to choose - walked in - asked if the camera was still available - it was - we bought it - walked out - and drove away, about 20 minutes later.
We saved a lot of money, and didn't deal with any pepper spraying crazies, fights or who knows what else other people have dealt with on Black Fridays over the years.
I asked our sales person about the crowd, he said the first 10 to 20 people got the door buster deals and the rest got the same sales deals we got several hours later.
It only confirmed my thought ... not now, not ever.
