From the football field at Cave Spring High School, to the big leagues. Former Cave Spring football player Danny Aiken prepares to head to the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots.
"It is definitely an experience. I am lost for words to be honest, a great experience," says Aiken.
After the AFC Championship game, a picture was taken of Aiken holding the trophy with his parents, who still live in Roanoke.
"I was very fortunate to have my mom and my dad up with me at the AFC championship, so they got to be apart of it," says Aiken.
An exciting night that went by too fast he says.
"To be apart of that and be apart of the team and the organization, it was a lot of emotion, a lot of excitement and love for the game. it is hard to explain what emotion was going through my mind," says Aiken.
Going to the Super Bowl, Aiken of course hopes the Patriots win.
"It's stay focused, like you do for every other week. You know you are in facing an opponent and just the team and the coaches need to stay focused and prepared," says Aiken.
Playing in the Super Bowl was a dream Aiken says he had back in high school. And with that dream about to come true, he says he isn't going to stop reaching for the next goal.
"It is great to be where I am but life in not over, with reaching one goal, you just push harder and work hard to achieve everything in your life," says Aiken.
No matter what team or field he is on.
