Chef Nazim: Drop Scones

Drop Scones


1 lb. flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 oz. sugar
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
8 oz. buttermilk
2 large eggs
Pan spray as needed


Preheat a flat griddle to 350 degrees.
Combine the flour and baking powder and mix well in a mixing bowl.
In a separate mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients (except pan spray) and mix well using a paddle attachment or a whisk.
Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture and mix enough to combine.
Drop 2 oz. of the batter in the greased preheated flat griddle. Cook until golden brown in the bottom. Flip and cook until golden on the second side.
If the batter is still raw in the center, you can finish them in the oven.
Serve with marmalade and butter.
