Boones Mill woman hit, killed by dump truck - FOX 21/27 WFXR Roanoke/WWCW Lynchburg News, Weather

A Boones Mill woman died after being run over by a dump truck Sunday afternoon.

Virginia State Police say it happened around 2 p.m. at a Boones Mill home in the 500 block of Primrose Road.

Charlotte Clemons Pate, 74, was standing behind a 1970 GMC dump truck when the vehicle came out of gear or was never placed in gear when it rolled backwards. Pate was pronounced dead at the scene.

Virginia State Police say they are continuing their investigation.
