Appalachian Power has found 750 extra workers to help meet its goal of having the power back on for most everybody in Southwest Virginia by Saturday night.
The crews will come from places all across the country.
"That's a big chunk of people," said APCo communications director Jeri Matheney. "They're coming in ready to restore power so that's a good thing!"
As an example of just how big a project this restoration process is, Matheney said 253 contractors and APCo employees were on the ground in the Lynchburg area helping in the clean-up efforts.
Matheney said APCo officials had been worried earlier today that they might not have enough man power to meet that Saturday night target.
