Radford Shooting Sends Man to Hospital

Posted: Updated:

Radford City Police are investigating a shooting that took place early Monday.

Investigators say the 911 center got a call around 1:20 a.m. asking for help in the 100 block of PT Travis Avenue. The caller claimed someone was beating on the windows and trying to get inside the home.

As officers drove to the scene, they got another call saying multiple gunshots had been fired by a person inside the home at the person who was banging on the windows.

When officers arrived, the person supposedly banging on the windows was gone.

Investigators say the suspect later showed up at a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. Police named him as 42-year-old Lee Warren Green Jr., and said he was familiar with the people who live in the home.

Radford Police say Green is in critical condition.

The case is still under investigation.
