Roanoke City Police on Thursday named the suspect in a bank robbery from this past Tuesday.
Officers say they have taken out warrants for the arrest of 23-year-old Richard Henry Ames III.
Investigators say Ames was last seen in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. According to NBC affiliate WVVA in Bluefield, W.Va., investigators received a call Wednesday night that Ames was hiding in the Marfrance area. When deputies from the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office went to serve a warrant, they say Ames ran off from a home.
Officers chased Ames for 30 to 40 minutes, then had to return to the area for backup and better radio communication, according to WVVA.
The search went on overnight on and around Anjean Road, past Rupert, W.Va. The search picked up this (Thursday) morning in the Duo, W.Va. area.
US Marshals and West Virginia State Police, along with officers from surrounding counties, are involved in the search for Ames.
