Wythe County deputies discovered a major marijuana growing operation recently.
According to Chief Deputy Keith Dunagan, officers raided a home in the Barren Springs area this past Thursday, Sept. 20.
Deputies found 120 marijuana plants growing using a hydroponic system inside the home. Dunagan says hydroponic marijuana is grown in a nutrient-rich water solution to produce a very potent strain.
In addition to the plants, Dunagan says deputies found processed marijuana, lights, hoses, water systems, timers, and fertilizers.
Dunagan says charges are pending, and investigators have a suspect who has not yet been arrested.
