
No word on the conditions of two of six people taken to the hospital, including a pedestrian hit by an SUV in a multi-vehicle accident.
According to police department spokeswoman Aisha Johnson, a Mazda
Tribute SUV was hit from behind by a Dodge Durango SUV in the 2100 block
of Dale Avenue around 8 p.m. Monday. The Mazda then ran onto an
embankment and hit a pedestrian.
Police named the people involved as:
Pedestrian hit: 44-year-old Steven James Moore, of Roanoke
Driver of Mazda Tribute: 67-year-old Jerry Wayne Whorley
Driver of Dodge Durango: 28-year-old Choubenta Aristilde
Officers charged Aristilde with failure to maintain control of her vehicle.
EMTs took Moore, Whorley, Aristilde and three passengers in the Durango to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Aristilde and her passengers were treated and released.
