Injured Kitten Found on Route 220 Undergoes Surgery

Posted: Updated:

The injured kitten found in Franklin County receives surgery.

Jennifer Parton said the response was incredible. In just one night she collected more than $2,800 in donations to help pay for the surgeries.

"I just want to say thank you Virginia Tech's Small Animal Hospital for all they have done to help, and to the many, many people who have given money," Parton said. "It's amazing how far one act of random kindness can spread."

After surgery, the kitten will have a long recovery and possibly other surgeries. Someone has volunteered to foster the kitten until he is adopted.

They still need donations to help cover medical costs.

Cash and check donations can be given at any Wells Fargo Bank directly to the account named "Funds for Kitten."

Other donation can be given by emailing fundsfornrvkitten@gmail.com.
