The Roanoke City Police Department has released an update on the triple shooting from Monday night.
According to police department spokeswoman Aisha Johnson, surveillance video shows a group involved in a fight at the Shell gas station on Hershberger Road, near Home Depot, shortly before the shootings around 8:30 p.m.
Officers who were on patrol near the gas station said they heard several gunshots, then saw "a large crowd of people" in the parking lot of the Shell gas station. As the officers walked up to the parking lot, they heard more gunshots, and saw the crowd start running. The officers said they also saw a man running away, and shooting as he ran.
The officers lost the man firing the gun in the crowd.
Johnson said investigators found two guns at the scene.
Investigators also named the three men who were shot. They are:
Frank Cooper, 37, of Roanoke
Joshua Tyree Poindexter, 20, of Roanoke
Antonio Jermaine Gravely, 25, of Roanoke
Johnson said witnesses are only giving limited cooperation to police.
