Next week is an important one for economic development in Blacksburg.

According to Montgomery County leaders, on Monday, they are expected to lay out plans to rezone the old Blacksburg Middle School site.

The 20-acre property owned by the town and the county is slated to include Modea's headquarters, along with a hotel, and possibly a fitness center.

A town vote on Tuesday, said Blacksburg Mayor Ron Rordam, could begin the process of rezoning the property, which would mean it is one step closer to re-development.
