ROANOKE, VA -

Today is day two of gay marriage cases before the Supreme Court. Justices will hear arguments on the Defense of Marriage Act that bans federal benefits for same sex couples in states where gay marriage is legal. Protesters on both sides of the issue are expected outside the court again.

Chicago teachers will take to the streets today to protest the planned closing of 54 schools. Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the head of the city's school system say the closures are necessary because many schools are half-empty. The Chicago Teachers Union says the closures will worsen neighborhoods that are already troubled and endanger students who may have to cross gang boundaries to get to school.

Later this morning, the National Association of Realtors will release the pending home sales index for February. Economic analysts expect the figure to drop slightly from January. It measures housing contract activity where a real estate contract was signed, but hasn't yet closed.

Horizon Behavioral Health's newly relocated Bedford office will have it's grand opening today. It will offer services for both children and adults in one location. The private opening is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. tonight.

Governor McDonnell and First Lady Maureen McDonnell will host their second annual Executive Mansion Easter Egg Hunt on Capitol Square in Richmond tonight. The hunt will include more than 10,000 eggs. The event is free and open to the public from 5:00-7:00 p.m..
