Downtown Roanoke Stabbing and Robbery Case Will go to Grand Jury

Posted: Updated:

Two Roanoke men arrested following a downtown Roanoke stabbing incident were in court Monday for a preliminary hearing.

Colten Troy Faulk, 23, and Demario Vessels, 21, were arrested on Feb. 22, following an incident at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Kirk Avenue.

Investigators with Roanoke City Police say the two suspects were charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and drug possession charges.

Police say Gregory Bowyer, 48, of Roanoke, was found beaten and stabbed following that incident. Bowyer was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

In court today, five witnesses took the stand. Surveillance video of the incident obtained by police was also shown.

The judge certified both cases, and they will now go to grand jury.
