It's amazing what can be accomplished with the energy and excitement of 300-plus women.
For the 6th year, the "Heels for Healing" women's luncheon helped raise the necessary funds for children who need medical help at the Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital in Roanoke and throughout Southwest Virginia.
Fox 21/27 sponsors the event, and I was on hand to emcee "Heels for Healing" which is about bringing women together over our love of shoes - *and* it also brings a powerful message about just how important "Heels for Healing" truly is for so many families in our area.
"What we're doing today is not just buying equipment ... It's giving kids back to their parents and that's such a wonderful gift," said Erin Hildreth, with the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
In the past 5 years, "heels for healing" has raised $100,000 to buy much needed medical equipment for children throughout Southwest Virginia.
