One man is in the hospital after a police involved shooting in Grayson County.
The Grayson County Sheriff's office says Monday night they got a tip that a wanted fugitive, Randy Lee Anders, was spotted walking along Grassy Creek Road. Four deputies responded to the scene - they found Anders in the basement of a neighbors house, lying on the ground.
Ignoring the deputies commands, Anders got up, and started walking towards them while pointing a gun at the deputies - two opened fire.
Anders was airlifted to Bristol Regional Medical Center - as of 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, he was still listed in critical condition.
Virginia State Police are investigating the shooting. The two deputies that fired their weapons have been administratively reassigned until the investigation is complete.
Anders was originally wanted in Grayson County for violating his probation and Failing to appear in Galax for a concealed weapon charge. He had reportedly made threats against law enforcement.
