A Flood Watch remains in effect through midnight for much of the region as more heavy rain is expected.
An additional one to two inches of rain is expected today, especially for areas north of the Roanoke Valley. If thunderstorms are able to form, locally higher rainfall totals could be seen.
Flood Warnings are in effect Tuesday morning for Craig Creek and Johns Creek. Water levels should drop by mid-afternoon Tuesday.
Flooding is also occurring along the New River in parts of Wythe and Pulaski Counties. High water will be seen more so on the left bank of the river. The river has crested and will slowly fall into the afternoon hours. Water levels should drop below flood stage by early Tuesday afternoon.
Water levels, while dropping, will remain high. Additional rainfall could bring levels back up and produce more flooding.
