Roanoke City leaders were on hand for the dedication of a mural at the Garden City Recreation Center Wednesday morning.
The mural is part of R.A.M.P., which stands for Roanoke Art Mural Project.
City leaders have found showcasing artwork in different areas of the community can positively impact tourism and growth.
"Things from murals to the symphony, to Center in the Square, to Jefferson Center is a wonderful mix that helps provide a better quality of life, but also makes us a place people want to visit, and helps the economy," said Roanoke City Manager Chris Morrill.
Murals that are part of the project can be spotted on several buildings in downtown Roanoke and one in Grandin Village.
