Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall now tells WSLS that investigators believe 24-year-old Ashley Kimberlin Rodriguez is dead.

Deputies have a warrant out for the arrest of 29-year-old Adan "Manuel" Rodriguez, on a charge of first degree murder.

The couple was married, and have four children together.  Sheriff Hall says other family members are caring for the children.

Hall added that investigators found Ashley's body covered with dirt, not buried, behind the office at Alleghany Memorial Park cemetery.  She had been shot in the face according to Hall, and dental records will be needed to positively confirm the body's identity.

The sheriff hopes to obtain surveillance video from a nearby gas station in Covington, to help with the search for Rodriguez.

Investigators are expected to return to the cemetery in the morning to collect additional evidence, and search for the murder weapon.

Hall said the Rodriguez family lived in the Jackson Heights area of Alleghany County, behind K-Mart.

Virginia State Police and the US Marshal's Service are helping with the investigation and search.
