Elmwood Park Project More Than Halfway Finished

The Elmwood Park project is on time and on budget, according to Steve Buschor, the director of Roanoke Parks and Recreation.

Buschor said the project is more than halfway finished and is expected to be complete by the end of August.

The amphitheater is really taking shape with the structure nearly complete, and the seating area is also progressing.

"Our key focus is to provide the needed amenities to those who use this park," Buschor said. "Everything from walks to runs, to festivals: this is going to provide a permanent home for them."

The seating capacity will increase more than 4,000.
