Franklin County Animal Shelter Says Adoption Rates Have Increased

The Franklin County Animal Shelter makes some changes to help with adoption rates.

Cindy Brooks, am adoption specialist, came on board back in November.

Since then, she says, the shelter has partnered with more rescue groups in our area. Brooks says it's made a huge difference by increasing adoptions, and decreasing the euthanasia rate. The shelter also offers a program to help with spay and neuter costs.

"We're trying to really push that so we can get the population down and animals saved," Brooks said.

Brooks says working with other rescue groups has helped tremendously, especially because the shelter has recently been at full capacity.
