17th Annual CHIP Tug for Tots Raises $21,000


An upset in the lightweight division of the 17th annual CHIP Tug for Tots!

The team from the Western Virginia Regional Jail defeated the eight-time defending champion Roanoke City Sheriff's Office.

A total of 19 teams participated in this year's event, raising more than $21,000.

The event has now raised nearly $385,000 since its debut back in 1996.

CHIP, which stands for the Child Health Investment Partnership of the Roanoke Valley, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

AllState #1 won the heavyweight division.

CHIP R US won the featherweight division.
