Cool School: Belle Heth Elementary

Posted: Updated:

The Cool School for May 23rd is Belle Heth Elementary in Radford.

Student teacher Jen Greenham brought the sport of jump roping to the school.  She is a former Junior Olympic jump roper.

The team of students practice an hour and a half a week after school.  Throughout the school year, they have learned many tricks, including double unders where the rope passes under the feet of the jumper twice before landing and the buddy bounce where the jumper sits on the floor and jumps allowing the rope to pass under.

The team participated in the Radford Christmas Parade and have held school assemblies.  A pot luck night was held so the students could perform for their families.
