The Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection is getting ready to join the Just One Day campaign for the second straight year.
Just One Day is national campaign that encourages pounds and animal shelters to take one day when they pledge not to euthanize and extend opening hours for adoptions.
The regional center will be open for folks looking to adopt a dog or cat from noon until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11.
The center is at 1510 Baldwin Avenue in Roanoke.
Several local rescues will also be on hand to facilitate and fast-track adoptions.
Pet owners are also encouraged to bring their dog or cat along to see if they are compatible with any animal they are interested in fostering or adopting.
