Now that we're past Memorial Day and into June, many people think that strawberry season is over. However, places like Scott's Strawberry Farm in Moneta still have plenty of berries.
Scott's Strawberry Farm is a place where people of all ages can learn about strawberries as they pick their own.
Judy Branscome works at the farm and says, "We encourage people to bring their families. We think children should see how strawberries grow. They just love it."
She says people of all ages come out to pick the berries, and they have some customers who have been coming for years.
While strawberry season would typically be ending this time of year, a late start to the season means there are more strawberries on the vines than there are being picked.
"We had too much cold weather and rain, it kind of held them back," Branscome says. "So they're really at their peak right now, and the flavor is the best it's been the whole season."
If you're thinking about heading out to buy some strawberries or pick your own, Branscome says there are still about two weeks left in the season.
