Murder suspect Adan "Manuel" Rodriguez is back in Alleghany County.
He was formally arraigned Wednesday for the murder of his wife, Ashley Kimberlin Rodriguez. He's now being held in the Alleghany County Regional Jail without bail.
Rodriguez was found last Thursday in Pineville, North Carolina and was being held at Mecklenberg County Jail.
Ashley Rodriguez's body was found back in May at Alleghany Memorial Park.
Ashley's sister released a statement Wednesday:
"The Family of Ashley K. Rodriguez would like to thank the whole community and commonwealth for all their love, support, prayers, and donations to our family and to her four daughters during this difficult time. We would also like to thank ALL law enforcement involved during the investigation and the capture of Adan "Manuel" Rodriguez, especially Kevin Hall and his staff for working as hard as they did, for keeping in touch with our family daily, and for showing their support during our tragic time. Hopefully now my family can breathe a little easier knowing that he is caught , is behind bars, and is back in Virginia. Now, I hope that my sister can rest in peace and get the justice that she deserves."
During this extremely difficult time, Ashley's family is also dealing with a separate problem.
They say scammers have been impersonating them on the web asking for donations for the four daughters Ashley left behind.
People have been showing their support for them and donating on Facebook, but the Kimberlin family says they haven't actually seen a dime of the donations from that site.
