It was graduation day for students across our region Friday.
Glenvar High School graduated at the Salem Civic Center, and the class of 2013 is leaving behind a pretty impressive legacy.
The class of 150 students has 15 valedictorians, and nearly 65% of the students are graduating with honors.
"That's phenomenal, to have a group of this size and this makeup to have so many honor grads," said Glenvar High School Principal Joe Hafey.
Glenvar was also ranked by a U.S. News and World report as one of the top 50 schools in Virginia.
It was also graduation day for seniors at Hidden Valley High School, in Roanoke County.
About 250 Titans received their diplomas, and each student that had a 4.0 GPA or higher was made a valedictorian. That honor was bestowed on 57 students in the graduating class.
Graduate Carolyn Bethel gave the 2013 class address.
