The Fourth of July is less than a month away and if you're still looking for something to do, how about a fun run?
The Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Virginia is holding its annual Four on the 4th, a four-mile run through downtown Roanoke. They say it's a good way to get the kids involved in a healthy activity, fitting in with their goals, and helps raise money for programming.
"It goes to help the kids with whatever they need, homework, tutors, we have a mentor program that's growing, so hopefully we'll have some extra money to help put towards that recruiting and getting more mentors here for the club," said Daria Goode, the director of development for the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Virginia.
This is the third year for the fundraiser. They're hoping for more than 500 runners. In the past, they've raised more than $25,000 with the run.
