God's Pit Crew is Back Home and Plans to Continue Helping in Oklahoma

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers from God's Pit Crew got a warm welcome after finally returning home.

Many of them are already back at work, with only one day of rest, but still not forgetting what they left behind.

"It felt good to be back, but I believe most of our hearts are still in Oklahoma," says Randy Johnson, God's Pit Crew founder.

Johnson reflects on the hundreds of families the group was able to help.

"We worked to help a number of families push everything they had worked for, their whole lives, to the street in a big pile of rubble," Johnson says.

Before the group left, they set up a few local churches for long-term recovery. They'll be sending them supplies as they are needed.

Randy says the job in Oklahoma is far from over.

"We can't rebuild everything, but we can do something," Johnson says. "With the help of the people in this community, we intend to go back and build one, if not two homes, for families out there who lost everything and have no other ways to rebuild."

The volunteers been overwhelmed by the love and support from our community and hope they will continue to help the group make a difference in Oklahoma.
