Man with Roanoke ties killed in crash with Maryland police officer

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MARYLAND -- A man who had moved from Roanoke for work in the Washington D.C. area, was killed in a crash with a police officer early on Wednesday.

According to the Prince George's County, Maryland Police Department, the crash took place around 3:05 a.m., at the intersection of Route 197 and London Lane in Bowie, MD.

Investigators say Corporal Michael Mogavero was responding to another crash, when he hit a car belonging to 32-year-old James Dejay Toliver in the driver's side.

And accident reconstruction team is working to determine who was at fault.

Toliver still has family in Roanoke.
