Local firefighters and EMTs race to the scene of emergencies daily, but on Wednesday night they raced each other in a no-holds-barred burger-eating contest to raise money for a good cause.
Roanoke Fire-EMS and the EMS Recruit School each put together a team made up of six of their finest to compete in the 3rd annual Smokey Bones Burger Battle.
Each competitor will have to finish off one of Smokey Bones' signature burgers in a timed relay.
Both teams are raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
While the Roanoke Fire-EMS walked away with the win, you can still help the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
All this month, Smokey Bones will donate $1 to the organization every time a customer orders one of the signature burgers.
Smokey Bones will also accept donations for the MDA through Sunday June, 23.
