Each year, tens of thousands of people report vision loss in Virginia, according to the American Foundation for the Blind.
In our area, Voice of the Blue Ridge does all it can to help, with such things as a radio-reading service.
The non-profit this week is hosting a man who makes it clear losing his vision won't slow him down.
John Bramblitt is an author and artist from Texas.
He and his art have traveled the world, and we're lucky enough to have him in Roanoke for Vision Awareness Days.
While at a welcome reception Tuesday night, Bramblitt will also take part in Dining in the Dark this Thursday and Painting to Music at the Taubman Museum of Art this Saturday.
