On Wednesday more than 50 Miss Teen and Miss Pre-Teen Virginia contestants visited the Rescue Mission of Roanoke to lend a helping hand.
The teen contestants helped serve food while the pre-teens made beds. The girls were also given a tour of the facility.
After the event, Miss Commonwealth Outstanding Teen Olivia Shedd said, "Its been really a great opportunity to learn about this Rescue Mission. They do some wonderful things here. I'm so honored to be here and to help serve."
This is the third year the pageants and the Mission have teamed up.
Miss Teen and Miss Pre-Teen events will continue throughout the week.
