The Vinton Town Council voted to move forward with plans to help revitalize downtown.
The council voted 5-to-0 Tuesday in favor of the final approval of a grant agreement between Vinton and the state.
It's the last step that has to take place before the town gets $700,000 to make improvements.
That money will go toward improving the look of several buildings downtown, landscaping improvements to the farmer's market, and starting a downtown business loan fund.
The town manager says the council can now move forward with signing construction contracts.
