Some of the storms that hit the area Tuesday led to a few delays in setting up and performing safety inspections on rides.
Safety consultants say checking out the rides in the rain can give them a better idea of how the rides will hold up during any storms we may see this week, but at times the rain got to be just too much, forcing inspectors to take a break.
"When it gets to raining too much, I personally stop," said safety consultant Danny Abner. "There may be something I can miss. This way I'm more attuned to what's going on."
Even with some of the rain delays they faced Tuesday, fair officials still expect the fair to open on time Wednesday, at 4 p.m.
