UPDATE: The Medical Examiner has confirmed the body found in a creek along McClelland Street in Salem is Edward Clark, Jr., 54, of Salem.

Salem Police are awaiting positive identification of a man found dead in a creek along McClelland Street.

The discovery was made Monday afternoon as officers, members of the Salem Fire and EMS Department and the Swift Water Rescue team were searching for a man who had been reported missing.

According to police, Edward Clark, Jr. of Salem was last seen July 4th when he was doing yard work and allegedly got caught in some high water caused by all the rain.

The man's body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for identification and to determine the cause of death.
