A Montgomery County man is headed to prison for sexually molesting two children in 2012.

According to Commonwealth's Attorney Mary Pettitt, a judge sentenced 48-year-old Danny Dillow to 30 years in prison on Tuesday. Dillow was previously found guilty of inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl in the Blacksburg Library, and a 7-year-old girl at the South Main Street Kroger.

Police say Dillow was already a convicted and registered sex offender when the crimes happened.

Danny E. Dillow, 48, will serve 30 years in prison for the aggravated sexual battery of two young children in Blacksburg. Judge Robert Turk sentenced him to the maximum allowed under law of 20 years on each of the two counts. He then suspended 10years of the sentence. Dillow was also placed on probation for 15 years and ordered not to have contact with children.

The charges upon which he was found guilty involve two separate victims.  On April 21, 2012, Dillow placed his hand on the crotch of an 11-year-old girl that was reading in the Blacksburg PublicLibrary. On June 2, 2012, Dillow put his hand on the buttocks of a 7-year-old while she shopped with her mother in the Kroger on South Main Street in Blacksburg. On that same day, Blacksburg Police officers had the library under surveillance and identified Dillow as a suspect.  Dillow was interviewed by police and admitted visiting the library.  Video also showed him entering the Kroger.

At the time of the offenses, Dillow was already a registered sex offender and was not allowed to have contact with children or to visit the library.

"Prison is the only way to guarantee that Dillow will not touch another child. Given his prior status as a sex offender this was an appropriate case to seek the maximum sentence," said Commonwealth'sAttorney Mary Pettitt.

Dillow has remained incarcerated since his arrest.
