The Roanoke Natural Foods Co-op is gearing up for a ribbon cutting to formally welcome their second location in downtown Roanoke.
They've invited all 3,000 of their owners to Thursday's event, and will be offering special deals in store.
The Co-op focuses on locally-grown produce as well as providing organic options.
John Bryant, a spokesman for the Co-op, says the demand for healthy options is high right now, and their business is better than ever.
"It has been a big tick up in people wanting to know more about their foods," Bryant said. "Organic standards are a definite hot topic item right now, but even local food has gotten even bigger because people get to know their grower and get to know that these farms are close by. Obviously the carbon footprint of transporting is very small."
The ribbon cutting is set for 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
You can come by for a free keepsake poster. The first 2,000 shoppers will get a free reusable grocery bag.
