Someone could be $425 million richer by the end of the day.
Powerball's third highest jackpot ever is up for grabs during Wednesday's drawing, and that's got a lot of folks rushing out to buy tickets.
The Virginia Lottery estimates that 1.8 million tickets will be sold just Wednesday here in the commonwealth.
Only once has a ticket sold in Virginia won the Powerball jackpot. That was back in February and was worth $217 million.
"When they see that big number like 400 million, that's when we start seeing office pools," said Virginia Lottery spokesperson John Hagerty. "We start seeing people that might not normally play and people who have never played."
Wednesday's drawing will take place at 11 p.m., and you have to buy your ticket by 10 p.m.
