The community came to say goodbye to a beloved leader in Roanoke Wednesday.
Reverend Carl Tinsley died this past Saturday after losing his battle against cancer. The homegoing service was held at the Pilgrim Baptist Church. The church was filled with dozens of people who said goodbye to the man who received many honors in the community, including Roanoke Citizen of the Year.
"He was a very loving man," says Peggy Moyer, Rev. Tinsley's niece. "He gave everybody the best he could. He was a person that, not only did the people respect him, he was well known and respected others."
