Dale Lee Thomas, the Roanoke man facing two felony charges, was in court Monday.
Thomas was charged with possession of marijuana and intent to sell, along with possession of an illegal sawed-off gun.
Thomas will be back in court on Tuesday to be arraigned on verbal threat charges.
Thomas turned himself into Roanoke City Jail on Friday, Aug. 23. Police say he bonded out four hours later.
Thomas has a prior criminal history of reckless driving and hit and run in 2008.
Police found approximately 70 firearms, body armor, and about 10,000 rounds of ammunition in Thomas's Fallon Avenue home.
On Aug. 19, Fallon Park Elementary was put under a shelter in place alert due to a warrant being served at a nearby home. Police came to the home in response to a man inside making threats to hurt other family members. Dale Lee Thomas, 56, was taken into custody and transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.
The shelter in place alert was in effect for two hours, but classes were not interrupted.
