The Highlands at Huckleberry Ridge is mostly piles of dirt now, but in the next few years the 60-acre property in Blacksburg is going to be a place people call home.
"We were scouting out sites, and after looking at various sites we felt like this one offered us the best opportunity," says William Park with Pinnacle Construction and Development Corporation.
Park says their target market is young professionals, and with more start-ups and jobs available in the town there has been a need for housing.
"I see so much growth happening in Montgomery County and we love the young professionals to say in the county," says John Tutle, incoming chair of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
And most of them do. The managers of the new apartment complex called the Reserve at Knollwood say most of its tenants are students and people who work close by.
County officials say having the current and upcoming luxury housing options will encourage more young professionals to live here.
"We're always trying for things that will make it easier for them to want to stay," Tutle says.
