New Evidence Comes to Light in Roanoke Cold Case After Three Years

Posted: Updated:

Tushawn Drew, a father of six, was murdered in downtown Roanoke after a night out with friends in November 2010. Even though it's emotionally difficult, his mother Wanda speaks about it, hoping anyone who saw something that night would come forward.

"I still have memories of the detective coming to the house letting me know what happened," Wanda said.

Tushawn was shot on Church Street while he sat in the back seat of a car. It's still unknown if he was targeted, but investigators say they have now made significant moves in the case.

We aren't able to give out the details because it could jeopardize the investigation, but police say they continue to follow leads. Wanda hopes one of those leads will help investigators finally find out who killed her son.

"I want to refresh everyone's memory that he isn't with us anymore and if that anybody has any information to please contact police," she says.
