A middle school bus was searched Tuesday after police received a report a person saw someone go on the bus with a weapon.
It happened at the intersection of Cove Road and Barrington Drive Northwest.
Students on the bus were searched and city police tell us nothing was found.
Roanoke Police are stepping up security at city schools Tuesday as they continue to investigate an incident that put Hurt Park Elementary on full lockdown Monday.
Police say the plan for Tuesday morning is to have an officer at each elementary school in the city, with help from the Roanoke Sheriff's office.
Roanoke City Public Schools do have school resource officers. However, at the elementary level, they're not in every single school every day.
Investigators, meanwhile, are still trying to figure out exactly what happened at Hurt Park Elementary on Monday.
Officials say at around 11:30 a.m. Monday, a teacher there found what appeared to be two bullet holes in the glass part of a door of an unoccupied preschool classroom.
Police tell us they did not receive any reports of shots being fired in that area prior to the call they got from the school.
They are currently reviewing video footage and evidence technicians spent a great deal of time Monday combing through that section of the school.
No one was hurt, and police want to stress the added presence this week is just a precaution.
They have not received any specific threats against any school.
