Terry McAuliffe and Ken Cuccinelli squared off Thursday night for their final debate before election day, but before the two candidates stepped up to the podiums, at least two groups held protests outside Virginia Tech.
The Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC held a rally right at Squires Student center, where the debate was set to take place. They held bright pink signs and chanted "Keep Ken out," hoping to share their concerns about Ken Cuccinelli with women in the community.
"We want to make sure women in Virginia are informed on Ken Cuccinelli's record on women's health and rights and how important it is to vote in this election," said Cianti Stewart-Reid, the executive director of the Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC
Meanwhile, across town, another group of women were holding a rally, this one in honor of Cuccinelli.
Montgomery County Republican Women held a rally in support of the candidate at Custom Catering before the debate.
