BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech head basketball coach James Johnson has suspended forward C.J. Barksdale for the first three games of the 2013-14 season due to a violation of team rules. The junior from Danville, Va., will continue to practice with the team and will become eligible to play beginning with the VMI game on Monday, Nov. 18 in Cassell Coliseum.

"I am disappointed in C.J., " Johnson said. "He is a young man who made a bad decision and now must deal with the consequences. I know that he will come back from this suspension and continue be a valuable member of this program."

This will be the only comment about the situation by any member of the Virginia Tech Athletics staff, coaching staff, basketball team or Barksdale.
