Lynchburg man identified as homicide victim

DANVILLE, VA -

According to police, the man who died in Danville this morning from a gunshot wound is 35-year-old Antwan Rucker of Lynchburg.

Danville Police say they responded to shots fired in the 1,000 block of Piney Forest Road a little before 3:00 a.m.

Upon arrival officers found Rucker suffering from a bullet wound.

Fire and EMS also responded and later determined he had died.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the homicide to please call them immediately.
