Pilot arrested for online relationship with 13-year-old Bedford Co. girl

BEDFORD COUNTY, VA -

A Navy pilot stationed in Virginia Beach is now behind bars after an investigators in Bedford County say he threatened a 13-year-old Bedford County girl and forced her to send him sexually explicit photos of herself.

The Virginia Beach Police Department confirms with WSLS that 30-year-old Daniel Chase Harris was arrested Tuesday and charged with enticing a minor under the age of 15 to perform elicit acts, electronic means for procuring minors for obscene material, indecent liberties with a child under 15, extortion and a threat to intimidate for money.

Investigators from Bedford County Sheriff's Office, Virginia Beach Police Department, and Naval Criminal Investigative Services, as well as members of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at Harris' residence in Virginia Beach on Tuesday, November 12.

Harris is being held without bond in Virginia Beach Correction center.

Authorities say he will be transferred to Bedford Adult Detention Center.

More children could be involved.
